Here are photos of white roses that UFL flower delivery florists arranged for customers in Kyiv: in bouquets, boxes and interiors. Before the gallery — a short guide to what white roses mean, who to give them to, which varieties to choose and how to keep them fresh longer. Everything else about types, colours and care is in our complete guide to roses. We also have a separate guide to red roses: varieties, meaning and prices. A white rose stands for purity, sincerity and new beginnings, which is why it is chosen for weddings, engagements and the birth of a child. White is also the colour of remembrance and respect, so white roses are appropriate at funerals and memorial days. The message depends on the occasion and presentation, not on the colour alone.
Who to give white roses to, and when
A bride and wedding guests — the classic bridal bouquet and decor.
Mum, grandma or a teacher — gratitude and respect without a romantic subtext.
A new mother — soft white spray roses with no strong scent.
A first date — white says sincere intentions rather than passion.
A farewell — a modest odd number. For words of support, see condolence messages.
How many white roses to give
In Ukraine people give odd numbers for celebrations: 5, 7, 11, 15, 25. Even numbers are only for memorial occasions. Big bouquets of 51 or 101 roses look especially striking in white — like a cloud.
Shades and varieties of white roses
A «white» rose can range from cold snow-white to warm cream, and the shade decides what it pairs with.
Photo shades may differ from real flowers: white is best judged in daylight.
Playa Blanca, Tibet — pure white, medium bud, the classic for single-variety bouquets.
Avalanche+ and Mondial — a large, dense bud with greenish outer petals; very long-lasting.
Vendela, White O’Hara — ivory; White O’Hara has a lush garden-rose shape and scent.
White spray roses — several small buds per stem for an airy, voluminous bouquet.
What to pair white roses with
White goes with everything, so the key is the mood. For a soft bouquet add eucalyptus, gypsophila, lisianthus or peonies. For contrast use blue delphiniums or red roses. For a minimalist look keep only greenery and white paper. Ready-made options are in white roses with delivery in Kyiv.
How to make a white rose bouquet last
Trim 2–3 cm off the stems at an angle with a sharp knife and remove leaves below the waterline.
Use cool, clean water and change it every day or two.
Keep the vase away from radiators, direct sun and fruit: ethylene from fruit speeds up wilting.
Avoid touching the petals — even light bruises show on white.
White roses for a birthday
White roses are a versatile birthday bouquet, suitable for a mother, a colleague or a partner. To make the gift festive rather than too formal, add a few colour accents — soft pink spray roses, blue hydrangea or eucalyptus sprigs — or choose bright wrapping. For a milestone birthday 25–51 white roses in a box or basket work well, and for a young woman a compact bouquet of garden-style roses. Add a card with a personal wish.
